Unfortunately we cannot get all the nutrients required for optimal health through our food supply.  Our soils are depleted of minerals and nutrients due to the mass use of pesticides, insecticides and fertilization.  Even if your diet is pristine it is unlikely that you are getting all the nutrients needed for a healthy body.  Your body uses nutrients for day to day survival.  Healing is it’s second priority.  If there are nutrients left over at the end of the day your body will use them for the healing process.  Using organically grown, whole food vitamins is the only way to be sure that your body is getting all the necessary nutrients.  Whole food vitamins are exactly how they sound ‘whole foods’ with all the water and fiber removed; just dried, highly condensed foods.  Because they are pure foods, your body can easily recognize and assimilate them just as it would food.

Supplements labeled as “all natural” are rarely whole-food supplements.  The difference between the two is that natural vitamins probably do contain natural ingredients but most also contain synthetic ingredients as well.  For a vitamin to be effective it must have all of its synergists.  Synthetic vitamins typically contain only parts of a vitamin whereas whole food vitamins contain the entire complex.  Because they are pulled from organically grown whole foods these vitamins work much harder for your body.  The FDA only requires a product to be 10% natural to be labeled as such.  The bottle may say, “The most natural form of vitamin B” when 90% of that was drawn from petroleum and coal tar and only 10% from actual food.

Taking synthetic vitamins can cause a vitamin deficiency and ultimately disease.  Stop wasting your money on synthetic vitamins and be sure to supply your body with whole food supplementation.
